Tamarindo is the most developed in the Nicoya Peninsula in the province of Guanacaste and one of the most famous surf spots on the beach in Costa Rica. Tamarindo Beach
The beach is right across the city center: Playa Tamarindo is a large sandy beach, ideal for swimming and surfing. Playa Tamarindo is backed by restaurants and bars facing the beach where I was at the forefront of surfing or you can see the sunset behind the fishing boats and the small island of Isla Capitan.
Tamarindo and Playa Grande
North of Tamarindo Matapalo River empties into the Bay of Tamarindo. Across the river is “Playa Grande, a long ribbon of white sand beach, complaining distance from the tip of Cabo Velas, the point of the peninsula west of Nicoya.
South of Tamarindo, around a rocky promontory, head to Playa Langosta, a vast expanse of white sand beach, divided by the Río San Francisco.
Matapalo River estuary and San Francisco have large mangrove forests that are home to a variety of waterfowl, crabs, and other animals. Estuaries and beaches of Tamarindo and Playa Grande are protected wildlife refuges, part of the National Park lute. ”
